The Ear & Hearing Research Center

Dallas Ear Institute and Baylor University Medical Center have partnered to establish a dedicated otology and lateral skull base research program focused on advancing innovation, expanding access to specialized care, and improving patient outcomes. Supported through competitive grant funding from the American Neurotology Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and private philanthropy, the program is developing a growing portfolio of clinical and translational research initiatives in hearing loss, otologic disease, and skull base disorders.

In parallel, the program is investing in the next generation of otolaryngologists by fully supporting a dedicated year-long research fellowship for a medical student pursuing a career in ENT. These efforts are further strengthened through active collaborations with Vanderbilt University Medical Center and other leading institutions across the country, creating a national network for multi-center research and innovation.
